HOT DARK N BLAZIN – 2018 AQHA Brown Gelding x A Good Blue Blazer x Blazing Hot out of Two Steppin Til Dark x Addicting
HOT DARK N BLAZIN, AKA Blaze, is a five-year-old bay quarter horse gelding, 15.3 hands tall, with lots of personality and potential. He is started on working cattle (will track the cow with little help), and also works in the arena w/t/c, preforms flying lead changes and has a nice stop (would slide if he had sliders on). He also goes out on the trails alone or in a group with no problems. He has gone over a teeter totter, bridge, tire, poles, tarp, and variety of other things. He has no problem approaching new things and I have yet to find something he is truly afraid of. He was recently taken to his first show and placed in showmanship, pleasure, and ranch riding. He stands for farrier, bathing, and clipping, and will unload and load himself into the trailer. Blaze would be best suited for a home where he is ridden daily and has a job, such as on a cattle ranch or as a mountain trail horse. He is steady and is used to deer, turkey, and other wildlife jumping out. I would suggest an intermediate rider for Blaze, only because he enjoys working and does have the energy of a five-year-old horse. However, I do believe he would be safe for lead-line classes for a young 4-H member. Blazes only vice is that when he is first saddled, he has a tendency to get a bit jumpy. This only lasts a matter of minutes on the ground, and after 30 seconds of lunging he is a dream to ride. He is completely sound; we have had him checked by our veterinarian and chiropractor. They suspect that this reaction is caused by trauma from a previous trainer. He may grow out of it with miles and age, don’t let this deter you from how awesome of a horse he is.
