XENA – 2016 GRADE Red Dun Mare
Real cowy, 14.3 hh, ranch mare. Will watch a cow, cut, rope breakaway, in the brand pen or open and tie off. Tons of potential for getting competitive. Whether going slow or fast, in or out of the arena this talented mare is a lot of fun to rope off. Has been in our cowboying string a couple years now, a pleasure to catch anytime for whoever needs a mount doing all ranch chores; calving cows, moving pairs, branding, sorting, riding feedlot, working gates and loading chutes. Super handy for snubbing and flagging colts, lopes out nice, stops well and will really long-trot the ranch miles. She’s bin rode in the ancient vaquero tradition of hackamore to bridle making her responsive to a variety of headgear, soft in the mouth and light off your leg. Has raised some nice colts that have been started and sure ride good. Can jump on her bareback way out in the pasture but some days thinks she wants to be sensitive to the cinch, just ride her out a few steps and she’s golden.
