Ranger has done a little of everything in the years we have owned him. He started out as our daughter’s horse in 4-H showing English, Western and showmanship. They also ran barrels, poles, tied goats, moved cows, were in parades and jumped a little. There may have also been an attempt at being a trick rider mixed in there! When she turned to sports, we kept him around to have a solid broke horse that anyone can ride. He has been heeled on a little, tracked breakaway calves out of the box, drug calves to the fire, been on trails/crosses water, and is a general jack of all trades. This summer he has been a lesson horse for a little girl and an adult novice rider. Ranger adapts to the skill of his rider and will adjust his speed and energy accordingly. A beginner or intermediate rider would have fun with him in or out of the arena. Ranger has had a pretty easy life with us and does not ride his age. He is an easy keeper and tends to be the top of the pecking order in the corral. Ranger has faint scarring from wire cuts on both hind legs. These were healed and faint when we bought him 9 years ago and have caused no issues We keep him on a good joint supplement and have chiro work done once a year.
