15hh. Strawberry has been one of my go to ranch horses since I started him as a 4 year old. He’ll do it all from roping bulls, cows, halter breaking colts, working calves in a feedlot, to dragging calves in the spring. He’s not fancy broke by any means but he is broke. Definitely not a kid or grandma horse but if you want to get a job done or trot for miles to the far end of your big pastures, Strawberry is your guy. I’ve lead a packstring in the mountains on him. Packed salt on him. Strawberries biggest down fall is he can be kinda watchy with new things on the ground that he’s never been around and can occasionally be cold backed after several months of time off. He’s absolutely not a bronc and he won’t buck you off but if he does show that sign of him it’ll be at the hitch rail when you saddle him not with you on him. He’s not your go to town horse or parade horse but he is as solid as can be. He’s great to shoe. Wears an 0 all the way around. Does not bite or kick. JIMMY – 2008 GRADE Gray Gelding

15.2hh. Jimmy has spent his entire life on the ranch. Gary Cooper out of Cody Wyoming started him as a 2 year old. Jimmy can and will do it all. Rope anything in the world on him. He’s picked up broncs, shagged bulls, been all the over the mountains, will pack anything, and he’s gentle. He’s big, solid, and good to shoe. Wears a 2s and 1s. He’s never bucked a day in his life. Yahtzee is an Appaloosa/Percheron cross that we have owned since he was a weanling. He stands 15.3hh and is absolutely stunning. MILLY – 2016 GRADE Black Percheron Mare.18.2hh

I have owned Milly since she was 4 years old. She was trained by a very good Amish friend of mine whom I will be accompanied by at the sale. This big stout mare has done it all; she has plowed ground, spread manure, baled hay with a square baler and a hay rack. She has raked hay as well and been in parades. I currently do sleigh rides every year with her and her teammate for a large Christmas tree farm. I have ridden her as well but not the easiest horse to get on because of her height but she has been saddled and ridden. Paris is a hardworking mare, also trained by a very good Amish friend of mine whom I will be accompanied by at the sale. She has been there, done that. SALLEE’S CREDENCE – 2013 GRADE Bay Roan Draft Cross Gelding

Credence is a 13-year- old gentle bay roan draft cross extremely experienced mountain trail and ranch gelding. He is 15.2 hands and really good-looking. We bought Credence at Billings Livestock Sale when he was three, so we have owned him a decade. Credence has been packed and led the pack string many miles. He has a nice neck rein and stop. He has been ridden by guides and guests both in our wilderness camps north of Yellowstone Park. Credence stands to get on and off anywhere. He is picket broke by a front foot and hobble broke. He has ridden up the mountain at three in the morning leading out with the guide or with a guest following behind with no trouble. Credence will cross high water, mud, and logs easily. He winters out on grass and keeps in great shape; then comes back in months later and rides off the same as when we turned him out. Credence likes people and is easy to catch. He is good to shoe and good to load. He gets along with all the mares, geldings, and mules. Credence has a nice way of traveling and is not afraid of bears, buffalo, or work. Our daughter worked him around cattle several winters, and he has competed in ranch rodeos the past few summers. He will watch a cow and you can pasture rope on him. TINY – 2016 GRADE Bay Belgian/Percheron Gelding

17hh, around 2000lbs. Tiny is broke to drive and ride. Tiny has primarily been a driving horse but as of the last 6 months he’s been used a lot under saddle. This gelding has a PhD under harness, hook him up double, single, left side, right side it doesn’t matter. In his previous homes he was used for breaking other draft colts to drive and pulling a feed wagon. Since Tiny has been in our program he has been a saddle horse. We have worked at the sale barns a lot with him, he’s pushed 1,000’s of cattle up the alleys, gathered cattle, trail rode, and he’ll get a gate and work a tub and alley. He moves his feet soft and correct like a little horse. Tiny is not a plug, he knows how to move his feet and travel correctly. REVEREND – 2020 GRADE Bay Roan Draft Gelding

Meet Reverend, a handsome bay roan draft gelding sporting a silver mane. Here is a rare opportunity to own a unique colored draft that rides like this one. TURBO – 2020 GRADE Black Tobiano Gelding

Turbo is a stout, soggy gelding that stands 15.1HH. We have owned him for 2 years and used him to gather and sort cattle. He will push cattle into the tub or loading cute. He also has a lot of road miles on him and has been around all types of traffic which he all takes in stride. He will go wherever you point him, through water, over logs, up steep banks etc. We packed him into hunting camp the last two years and have had horse feed, germ meat and smaller horns on him. He is hobble broke. We recommend him as a pack horse or for a more experienced rider as he is goosey. He has never offered to buck or to jump. He is also watchy on the ground around strangers but once he knows you he is a lot better. We let him stand for up to 4 months and he wasn’t any worse than if he is used regularly. PAINT – 2021 GRADE Sorrel Paint Gelding

About 16hh. Paint is a paint gelding that stands right about 16 hands. This young horse has seen miles beyond his years, spanning from Montana to Nevada and Oregon, and has been a nice, reliable mount since the day he was started. We got him as a 2 year old from the woman that raised him, and he was handled extensively as a young horse as well. Since we have had him, he’s been exposed to absolutely everything as a ranch horse, from processing calves in the feedlot, to branding for weeks at a time, and gathering in steep, rough, rocky country. Paint has also been trail ridden extensively, from bareback rides around the ranch to overnight trips into the Bob Marshall, and this is where he truly shines. For just 5 years old, Paint is a solid citizen. He leads, loads, and ties like he should, is well behaved to shoe, and is always safe and gentle to be around. Paint has been a valuable member of our saddle horse string for 3 years, and although he has been used extensively by us, he has not been ridden by many beginner riders yet. That being said, I believe that with his easy going personality and good mind, he should be a great fit for any member of the family in no time. He would be a wonderful addition to any guest ranch, would excel at leading a pack string, or would be happy to just be a part of the family. Paint has spent this past fall processing and weaning calves in the Pryor Mountains, and knows about a hard days work (though he much prefers an easy one!) 14hh. This is a sale ad I’ve been avoiding writing for years now. Fancy has been my horse for 6 years now. I have really enjoyed her, she is so much fun to ride. The really nice thing about fancy is how easy she is, you can turn her out for 6 months and she’ll be exactly the same horse when you ride her again. We have used her on the ranch gathering and doctoring. We’ve drug calves on her. We have used her in the rodeo arena shagging bulls, I had to run a loose bull 5 miles down the highway one time at a rodeo. She is just plain nice and steady. You can literally grab her up any time and do anything on her. I only shoe her when we are hauling her on rocky ground otherwise she’s barefoot. She’s good to shoe and has good feet. She hauls good and is no troubles to have around. I’ve been able to put off selling her for a long time but now with the kid going to college, Mom said I’m supposed to sell my dang horse to help pay for it!! We bought Poncho several years ago from a buddy of mine that manages a cattle ranch. He got Poncho as a 2 year old and rode him on the ranch moving cattle, doctoring, dragging calves and whatever else needed done. Poncho has been one of our personal mules. He has been the one that Laura has ridden on summer pack trips, in the fall hunting or anytime she goes into the back country. Po has been the rock star of our mule string.  He is everyone’s favorite and will be missed.  Po is the gentlest and most bomb proof mule I have seen. He is a gentleman in every way and will do whatever is asked of him. He has done everything a mule can do in our outfit. The guides use to fight over who got to ride Po. The last couple years Po’s job has been packing kids on hourly trail rides and pack trips. Anyone can ride Po. He takes care of nervous riders and helps build their confidence. ROCKY & ROBO – 2022 & 2021 GRADE Black Percheron Geldings

This extremely fancy pair of full brother Percheron geldings with long manes and tails go by the names of Rocky & Robo! Big, Beautiful, Black, Broke, Gentle, Safe, and Dependable are just a few adjectives I would use to describe Rocky & Robo. They stand 17.2 and 17.3 Hands, tip the scale at 1925lbs each, and wear a size 6 shoe. Rocky & Robo were raised right here in MN on a Amish farm, where they started their career under harness doing a variety of tasks from spring field work, to summers baling hay, to fall harvest. One task on the Amish farm that taught them a lot patience, was pulling the milk sled through the rows of calf huts to feed a couple hundred bottle calves morning and night. We have owned Rocky & Robo for a year and boy have they become a staple in our business. We used them extensively throughout the holiday season giving horse drawn rides to hundreds of people. About 15.2 hands and 1270 lbs. Bill has been ridden every other day for the last 9 months in a feedlot. Pop A Top is a 100% finished ranch horse. Home raised by my daughter, he became one of her favorites. Used on the ranch, covering big country his whole life. She made a ranch horse competitor out of him and along with her team won numerous competitions making it all the way to the semifinals one year at the Metra. Pop will track a cow and set you up at any level. He has been to numerous brandings, sorted thousands of pairs, worked the alleyways, loaded trucks, flagged colts, you name it and he has done it. Even at 16 there is not a cow that will outrun him and he will set you up as good as any cowhorse could. He takes care of his rider. Crosses anything from downed timber to concrete irrigation ditches. Never refuses. No spook, buck or funny business even after time off. He does have a second gear and when you ask him to get out, he will go! Smooth walk, sitting trot and as much gas as you can ask for. Not in your pocket but easy to catch. Shoes good, stands tied, saddles quiet, hauls perfect and has perfect ground manners. Flags don’t bother him. He has been used to tie off and lead colts. This guy has seen it all. Takes it in stride. He would really excel as a youth breakaway or rope horse. At 16, he probably doesn’t need to do big gathers. Once you have the cows out of the hills, he’ll do all the sorting etc. He has no soundness nor maintenance issues. We are no longer using him hard due to his age. And because of this, we are offering him as is. No secrets, just a 16 year old that has been ridden and used his whole life. He doesn’t have to ranch. He is an excellent trail horse too. Pal is a gentle but active gelding. Kind of a big motor and really needs a job and some consistent riding. There is no buck or foolishness to him, but he needs an experienced hand. We have owned him since he was a yearling. He is definitely out of papered stock but we can only offer him as grade. Stands 14.3hh and is almost all black in the summer. He stands tied, he’s good to saddle, good with his feet. Easy to worm, up to date on shots. Trailers well and hauls quiet. He will make someone a nice horse, especially if you have a job for him. We used her on the mountain from June 2025 to December of 2025.  Little Josey is small but she loves to cover country. She has the endurance to go all day with no quit. Everything that’s been thrown at her job wise, she does with her whole heart. We moved her to Idaho mid December of 2025. She has excelled with working in a feedlot setting. SAM – 2013 GRADE Bay Roan Welsh Pony Cross Gelding

14 hands 800#. Sam is a nice size pony that travels out really well. Has been through our three youngest kids and a few cousins and has transitioned between them nicely. We are at a point where the kids have grown out of their ponies and they are ready to head out to another kid. He can easily keep stride with the big horses and has done all the same ranch chores. Drug calves to the fire, sorted on, helped doctor out in big rough country and tracks cattle well. He has of course also been privy to all the kids shenanigans over the years and taken part in many games of tag, fort building, and homemade jump courses. He is not spooky nor is he easily excitable in tight situations. He is well rounded, one handed broke, and willing. Because Sam is a forward traveler we would not recommend him for timid riders or complete beginners. He is gentle, kind and very controllable but has an easy go button and would probably be best suited for confident beginner/intermediate riders. Sam is good with his feet and have trimmed him occasionally but he has never needed shoes so has never been shod at our place. Easy to catch just about anywhere with a piece of cake and is quite used to the kids swinging on to ride him bareback to the house after they catch him. Loads and travels well. 14 hands 900#. Reba has been with us since the winter of her 3 year old year. She was started by our son Howdy who was 7 at the time and has been ridden by many, but primarily him, since. He is now almost 14 and has outgrown her so she is in search of her next partner. Reba is gentle and quiet and has done most everything on the ranch as well as been an equal partner in the great imagination of a ranch kid. Joining in on the races, jumping homemade courses, building forts, and playing tag. Although being a part of those surely filled her days she also has a serious working resume that helped shape her into the well-loved pony she has become. WILLY – 2012 GRADE Brown Gelding

Willy is super gentle both on the ground and to ride. He has nice manners and no buck. He is extremely friendly, loves attention and will meet you at the gate. He loads easily, travels well and is good to shoe. He crosses water willingly, carefully steps over downfall, pushes thru thick brush and handles all types of terrain well. His eagerness and stamina are welcome on a long day gathering cows. Willy is 15 hands, not a heavy muscled horse, but nicely built with correct, blemish-free legs and hard black feet. His color changes with the seasons from dark brown/black with roan hairs in his face and flank in the winter, to almost buckskin in the summer. I would not consider him for a beginner rider as he is not a dead-head. However, an adult or kid with some experience should get along just fine with him. PICKLES – 2018 GRADE Dun Gelding

Pickles is a lined back dun gelding.  I raised him and did not send in paperwork to register him.  He is out of a Peps Royal Sun and PJ’s Vanila Pop.  I used him in the stock yards and on the ranch as a 3 and 4 year old.  He has had limited riding since then due to the other young horses on the ranch.  He has a nice handle and a lot of miles left in him.
